​​Homeschool Studio is a quarterly, humanities-based art curriculum for upper elementary through high school students.

 

Each 6-week quarter pairs hands-on studio projects with art history, giving students a real look at how artistic movements shaped (and were shaped by) the world around them. Students complete each quarter with a Certificate of Completion and assessment.

Industrial Revolution and the Origins of Modern Art

• Sept 10 — Romanticism: William Turner, The Fighting Temeraire and landscape's rise

• Sept 17 — Realism: William Michael Harnett, The Old Violin and trompe l'oeil

• Sept 24 — Impressionism: Berthe Morisot, On the Terrace, artists pastels en plein air

• Oct 1 — Post-Impressionism: Vincent Van Gogh, Green Wheat Fields, Auvers, oil pastels

• Oct 15 — Pointillism: Paul Signac, La Corne d'or Matin 1907, color theory and watercolor

• Oct 22 — Art Nouveau: Louis Comfort Tiffany, stained glass, Trinity Church

• Nov 5 — Fauvism: Andre Derain, Bateaux dans le Port de Collioure, gouache and watercolor

• Nov 12 — Expressionism: Edvard Munch- The Scream

• Nov 19 — Cubism: Georges Braque, The Round Table, mixed media collage

• Dec 3 — Abstraction: Wassily Kandinsky, Intersecting Lines, colored pencil drawing

• Dec 10 — Orphism: Robert and Sonia Delaunay

• Dec 17 — DeStijl: Piet Mondrian

 

Pricing

• $120 per quarter (six 1.5-hour classes, includes Certificate of Completion and assessment)
