POSITION:

Bookkeeper // Administrative Assistant

BOOKKEEPER/ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

We are a 501(c)(3) visual arts non-profit with first class gallery exhibits, classes and public programming, including 2 dynamic annual festivals. We are passionate about artist advocacy, arts education and public service. This position works directly with the Executive Director. We are looking for a motivated, positive person to fill the part-time position of Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper. This position will volley back and forth between Quickbooks, databases, registrations, etc. and engaging with the public. The perfect candidate is able to multi-task, prioritize and move between these roles with ease.

 

DUTIES INCLUDE

  • Bookkeeping

  • Accounts receivable and vendor relations

  • Financial reporting

  • Payroll

  • Paying monthly taxes

  • Donor Database Management and correspondence

  • Class registration

  • Bulk Mailings

  • Answering the phone and responding to Emails during Office Hours (currently Tues-Friday, 10-4)

  • Help with events and programming as needed

  • Purchase of office and programming supplies

  • Website maintenance

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficiency and 2+ years experience with Quickbooks accounting software

  • Experience and comfort with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel

  • Friendly and helpful demeanor with the public

  • Willingness to learn and accomplish new skills and tasks

  • Current driver’s license and means of transportation

  • Must be organized and detail oriented

  • Able to work some evenings and weekends as needed

  • 2+ years experience working as a bookkeeper/office manager or related field

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of art, design or creative practices

  • Experience with non-profit organizations

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Website maintenance experience, specifically with Wix

 

COMPENSATION/BENEFITS

  • $20/hour, average 24 hours/week with additional hours available if desired during events and the holiday season.

  • Discount on gallery purchases and classes
