Art in the Park
at Gypsy Hill
FESTIVAL DATES: Saturday, September 3 and Sunday, September 4, 2022.
FESTIVAL HOURS: The event will be open to the public 10am-5pm Saturday (September 3) and noon-5pm Sunday (September 4). Artists are not permitted to pack up or depart early. Art in the Park is a RAIN OR SHINE event.
ELECTRICTY: available upon request.
BOOTH FEES: $125.00 (non-members) and $110.00 (Art Center members) for 10'x10' tent. Payments can be made through the links below or via check (mail to SAAC, 20 S. New Street, Staunton, VA 24401).
Vendor fees are due by Sunday August 7th in order to secure your place. We have several people on a waiting list to participate. We would appreciate you letting us know as soon as possible if your plans have changed and you are unable to attend. If you have any questions/concerns about the payment or due date, please let us know.
LODGING: Please contact the SAAC office if you would like information on area lodging options.
SET-UP TIME: Artists may arrive to set up booths only on Friday evening, September 2nd from 5-7pm. Enter the park via the entrance off of Thornrose Avenue and check in at SAAC’s information tent. We will have an Artist’s Packet ready for you upon your arrival and your booth placement will be assigned at that time. [Sorry – no trading or booth location changes allowed!] If you have any special requests, every effort will be made to fulfill that request
FESTIVAL REGISTRATION: begins at 6:30am on Saturday, September 3. We ask that you unload your vehicle as quickly as possible and move to vendor parking no later than 9:30am Saturday
VENDOR PARKING: Armory Parking Lot. The use of handicapped spaces for handicapped licenses is strictly enforced by the City of Staunton.
JUDGING: judging will take place on Saturday morning starting around 10:30am. In order for a booth to be judged, the booth label (provided in your packet upon arrival) must be visible. More information about prize awards will be announced later this summer.
TAXES: please note that Virginia sales tax (5.3%) is required on all sales. It is each vendor's responsibility to report and pay taxes. The Art Center will pay for and arrange for a temporary business licenses, a requirement of the City. SSN or EIN is required.
SECURITY: while the Art Center arranges some security, it accepts no responsibility for the safety and security of participants and their artwork. Vendors are expected to display their work under a tent. All tents and canopies must be secured against strong winds (heavy block or window weights work well).
RULES AND REGULATIONS
The Art Center invites all artists who exhibit their own original art and fine craft to apply. WORK THAT WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED: commercially produced works, Commercially molded ceramics, sculpture or jewelry, or Items made from kits, or assembled from pre-manufactured components
Reproductions are not eligible for judging.
Participants are strongly encouraged to display their work under a tent. All tents must be anchored against wind with weights.
